The 2-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders have had a torrid time in the Indian Premier League for the last couple of seasons finishing 7th in the 2022 as well as the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League. And that has reflected in their releases this this term with the Knights having released 12 players, the highest by any franchise, before the 2024 auctions.
With the mistake of letting go of Shubman Gill, a player who has gone strength to strength and will be the captain for Gujarat Titans this season, still haunting them, KKR have now looked towards to past to secure their future by bringing in their ex-captain Gautam Gambhir as a mentor.
With a pretty good amount left in their kitty, the Knights will look to go for some quality pace bowlers with names such as Australia’s Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Jos Hazlewood and ex-RCB player Harshal Patel all in the pool.
