India defeated Iran 42-32 in the final of the Asian Kabaddi Championship 2023 at the Seokdang Cultural Center of Dong-e Institute of Technology in Busan, Republic of Korea on Friday. This was India’s eighth title in the last nine editions.
Indian captain Pawan Sehrawat led from the front with a Super 10. The Indian men’s kabaddi team fell behind Iran in the first five minutes of the game. However, a few tackle points from defenders and successful raids by Pawan Sehrawat and Aslam Inamdar gave Iran their first all-out of the match in the 10th minute.
Riding on a brilliant all-round performance, the Indian Kabaddi team took a quick lead with their momentum. Defending champions India gave Iran some easy bonus points but inflicted their second all-out in the 19th minute.
